Kennesaw Mountain

We took the kids to Kennesaw Mountain last week to have a picnic and then hike up and down the trail. They had a lot of fun. Mea and Charlie were champs and walked up and down the whole way by themselves...Ben and Jimmy were a tad bit tired! Aaron or I carried Jimmy the whole time and Ben about half. It was a lot of work but so fun.

Happy 7th Birthday MEA!!

Today is Mea's 7th birthday! I can't believe it...it in some ways breaks my heart and in lots of other ways is so exciting! It breaks my heart because she is not that little

baby with the lisp and beautiful blue eyes. She's not the little toddler who needs mommy to wipe her, get her dressed or buckle her in her car seat. She is however, the little girl who is learning to trust God to save her and cause her little heart to love him. The God who forgives all of her sins and causes her to love others(especially her brothers...which is hard sometimes!!). She's the little girl who loves to do crafts and is much more creative than her mommy. She is the cute little girl with hazel eyes that look just like her grandpa bill's. (my dad) I love that we get to get our nails painted together and that she loves to fix my hair. And lastly, I love that being Mea's mommy is teaching me more and more about the savior and his forgiveness of my sin's and my need for him. Thank you God that 7 years today you blessed me with my little princess...Magdalene Elizabeth Anderson!!

School and 9th anniversary!!

This was a very busy week! We started school on Tuesday...the kids are doing well and enjoying it! I love schooling them too. I don't really do much with Charlie just the basic preschool stuff. Ben is learning right along with him - it's fun to see them learn. On Thursday was Aaron and I's 9Th anniversary! We had planned on going to buck head and walking around and going to dinner at Maggiano's. ( our favorite) While we were down there we decided to hot wire a hotel and see what we could get it for. We ended up getting the Hyatt for only 96 bucks! We had 220.00 in gift cards and cash from friends so our whole anniversary was paid for!! Because we didn't plan on staying we certainty weren't prepared - we had no extra clothes, toothbrushes, make -up, pj's....NOTHING!! It was an adventure and we had Lot's of fun. Thank you to all of our friends for making our day so special. We are grateful for the phone calls, prayers, cards, texts and the gifts! We love you all! Here's to another wonderful year loving my best friend and growing more and more in love with the savior - all by the grace of GOD!

Blanket time

A friend of mine posted on her blog about giving her kids blanket time. My first thought was,"This would NEVER work for MY kids!" Well, I figured I'd give it a try. They loved it and have been asking for more blanket time. It was great!! They all sat on their blankets and read for 30 minutes. James did have a few discipline's but he is learning very quickly that it is wise to stay on the blanket!! I even got to read quietly with them. Thanks Praise for the great idea!!
