Reading my cousin Maggie's post today made me remember that phrase from Dave Harvey's book, "When sinner's say I do".
Our sin blinds us, makes us dumb. (as Mag put it so well!!) I was reflecting over my day today and was freshly convicted of all the times I was irritated, selfish and just plain DUMB. Thank you Lord for your mercy's that are new each morning. Thank you that you died a humiliating death for me. Thank you that you have given me four little kiddo's to raise for your glory. Thank you for little smiles with peanut butter and jelly kisses. Thank you for dirty little finger nails, lighten McQueen under ware all over the house, pee-pee on the bathroom rugs(in EVERY bathroom), broken nail polish bottles, crayola crayons on the dry erase board and almost every door in the house, enough play animals for the entire neighborhood, American girl bobby pins, enough food under the dining room table to feed us and another family for a week, thank you that you are teaching me more about my own sin and my dependence on you and last but certainly NOT least...thank you for forgiving all of my stupidity!!

what a great reminder at the beginning of a new day with the kiddies..thank you sara
Thanks Sara for your openness in sharing your hearts convictions.
I have been going through this for a steady week now, and don't have a blog, but i as well have been so gracely reminded of "How Dumb" I can become, because of my hearts deceptive way's!
I love you Sis, and a little something is on it's way for Maggie
Mom
When I was a young "stupid" mom of several young children, God convicted me of my grumbling with this verse from Proverbs 14:4 "Where no oxen are the manger is clean, but much increase comes by the strength of the ox."
They didn't have tractors back then so the oxen were VERY important and useful animals.
So now my 'oxen' are almost all gone and my house stays cleaner and you would think there would be less temptation to complain....there is ALWAYS someTHING that needs to be fixed, cleaned, replaced. Wood, hay & stubble.
Keep up the good work Sara. Before long God will knit your heart to someone else's young children because they remind you of your own and what you miss :-)
In the meantime, I join you in trying to not be TOO stupid this week!
Love you,
Susan
Love your post Sis. Thanks for always reminding us of the Gospel. Love you and call me when the kids aren't screaming....like tonight around 8:30pm. We can run...or rather, I can chase you around the neighborhood. HA HA love you
I guess that is why we are called "sheep" :) - we need a Shepherd, makes me think of the verse, "All we like sheep have gone astray and each has turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
Our nothingness makes it His greatness and grace so amazing.
Thanks for sharing your post, from one fellow sheep to another.
Love you, Jenn :)
always love reading your journal entries, Sar...thank you for sharing your heart with us...it encourages me to adopt the same mindset with my little kiddos at school! tell Mea that, "I can't wait to see her soon, OKAY?!" hee hee
Sara, I loved this post. What a great reminder. One I definitely needed.
